Guru Govind Singh University was established in the year 1998 under the provisions of Guru Govind Singh University Act, Govt. of Delhi. It is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Guru Govind Singh University is certified with ISO 9001:2008. Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University was established by the government on 28 March 1998 as Indraprastha University (IPU). NCT of Delhi as a State University under its amendment in 1999 under the provisions of Guru GovindGovind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998. Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University Scholarship
IPU provides fee waiver for students belonging to SC/ST quota or EWS. In addition, it helps students to get study loans from banks at low interest rates. The Central Government has prescribed a refund of 25 percent on the fee for the students who have passed the final qualifying examination qualifying the scholarship.
Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University Campus
The USBT is equipped with advanced equipment, priced at Rs. More than. 5 crore and ranked first in terms of library and infrastructure, and an overall seventh in India by Cyber Media Research (publisher of the biotech journal Biospectrum). USBT is the youngest among all the top ten biotech schools.
In the 2005 survey, it was ranked third in the country for B.Tech (Biotechnology) education. USBT has established state-of-the-art laboratories for teaching and research in various areas of the biotechnology sector.
Plant tissue culture, animal tissue culture, genomics, proteomics, microbial technology and bioinformatics. USBT has also recently acquired automatic DNA sequencer and FT-NIR facility.
